Legal Description Inquiry:

1. You may use upper and lower case in all fields; the search will convert to upper case for you.
2. Wild cards are permissible in most searches. An * will match zero or more characters and a ? will match one character.
3. If you copied the search criteria from one of the other reports, pasted it into the search box, and the search fails this may be because of the way your browser treats multiple spaces. Re-try using one of these two techniques:
   1. Eliminate all but the first word in your search criteria.
   2. Replace every blank space with an *.
4. Section, township, range are important limiting factors. There are many parcels in a county that have the same legal description, but are located in different sections, townships or ranges.
5. The section, township and range is printed on your tax bill (show me where; see labels D and E).
6. Legal descriptions on the real estate record do not necessarily match those on the Recorder's record. Use a different search method.
